In the 18th century, interest in Dead Sea minerals grew with the discovery of their marvelous healing properties, particularly for skin diseases. In the y ears that followed, the Dead Sea became known internationally as a place offering complete and natural cures for skin problems, and visitors began to travel to the area from all over the world.
So how do you know if it is real? Really from the dead sea? And not table salt?
Dead Sea salt is unique in that it is very low in sodium and contains a highly concentrated combination of naturally occurring minerals and skin softeners that is unparalleled in any other bath salt," Zoske explained. "But, unfortunately, some companies are selling fake Dead Sea salt or Dead Sea salt that has been refined to the point of becoming pure sodium chloride. Therapeutic Dead Sea salt is not what we typically think of as 'salt.' The real thing is not edible and actually tastes very bitter. A good test for consumers is to taste their Dead Sea salt. If it tastes like table salt, then it probably is."
So I tasted it, yep I did. To be honest it does not taste like table salt. It left a terrible taste in my mouth. To the point I had to get it out. Table salt does not do this. So I don't no for positive if this is real or not, but what I can say is this. It is not table salt!!
So the bath test. I like to work out, and my husband works in construction, I have had back surgery and have joint issues. So I have in the past soaked in a epson salt bath. For me it makes me feel almost like jello. Like I just have to go to bed, super relaxed, no this is not just from a hot bath either. It is a detox effect that can be very powerful. My husband hated it, he said he felt like he was going to die. so epson salt has worked for us. So the test with this.
I poured my bath and used about a cup of the Dead sea salts. they dissolved very fast. I like that so I am not sitting on a salty , rocky feeling tub. Or getting salt where I really do not want it to go.
So I soaked for about 15 or so mins. When I got out I did not feel as relaxed as I have before, however I had not worked out or had muscle pain at the time.
The next time I used it I poured about 3 cups in. This time it worked much better when I got out after a soak I felt that jello feeling in my legs, and felt all detoxed. So I do believe this works, however you need to play with it to see the amount you need to get the results you want. You may not want the super detox like I do. There are a lot of different reasons you can use this. From acne to joint pains, and just to relax. There are other things too.
